This is an early view of Grace Episcopal Church which was founded on Ascension Day 1837.
The church building, designed by Richard Upjohn, who was the architect of Trinity Church, New York, was consecrated on October 5th, 1848. It is an example of the American Gothic Revival style.
The bell tower contains a single massive bell purchased by Jeremiah C. Garthwaite, one of the 1837 founding members.
What town is this church in? Newark? Or ?
Thanks
