The young couple you see in the RPPC(real picture post card) are not famous or well known. They are not affluent from the looks of their surroundings and the packed earth they’re standing on. Their clothing ,while neat, is not elegant or sumptuous. They are from all appearances just regular working folk. We know their names because they’re written on the card. He’s Alden W. Bastedo and she’s Jennie Robinson. Why did they take this photo and send it to a Mr. Hawk in Elizabeth, New Jersey? Maybe they just got engaged or perhaps they are related. I don’t know. What I do know is thatc charming post cards of people who are neither rich or famous are few and far between.
