This brightly colored pillow sham was produced for the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics. The school trained thousands of mechanics and aeronautical engineers who played a critical role in supporting the Army Air Force during WWII. Although I cannot say for certain why a pillow sham was created for an aeronautical school, I am fairly certain that whoever owned it must have never used it for its intended purpose. Except for creases where it was folded it looks brand new. I would not be the least surprised if I was to find out that someone put it away eighty years ago and simply forgot about it.
Cool!
