In a previous post I featured post card depicting the corner of Clifton and Park Avenues. I indicated that the large Victorian home on the corner eventually became the Hospital for Crippled Children. In later years, the hospital built a “modern” brick hospital on the site that was utilized until the hospital closed. The performance by the Metropolitan Opera Association of La Traviata on January 26th, 1937 was sponsored by Bamberger’s to benefit the Crippled Children’s Hospital. Bamberger’s was very committed to the city in which it was founded and this is a prime example.
