The Presbyterian Hospital 1910-1996

IMG_3936IMG_3937IMG_2712This Booklet published in 1935 commemorated the 25th anniversary of The Presbyterian Hospital in Roseville Section of Newark, New Jersey . Founded in 1910,the Presbyterian Hospital originally occupied an old mansion adapted for hospital use on South 9th Street. On Thursday, January 10th, 1929, the recently demolished, orange brick hospital was dedicated. Expanded a number of times and eventually becoming part of United Hospitals Medical Center it served the greater Newark/Roseville community with distinction. An Essex County Vo-tech school will rise on the site and is slated to open in 2018. So the location will continue to serve the public good albeit in a different capacity.
