This beautifully crafted medal was created, in 1908,  by the Sommer Badge Company for the Newark Elks Lodge No.21 to wear at their annual convention in Dallas, Texas. The Sommer Badge Company, located at 239 Halsey Street, was a contemporary of the Whitehead and Hoag Company and, in my opinion, produced work of similar quality.
