The 1914 South Side High School football team had a very good season. Altogether they won five games and tied two. This postcard captures that victorious team in front of their school full of the confidence of youth. Three years later the United States would be entering WWI and undoubtedly , some if not all of these young men would be called to service. However, in 1914, in front of their high school and coming off a victorious season we can share the pride that lead someone to create this post card 102 years ago.
